BALOO WAS OUT ON THE STREETS AND NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION!

Meet “Spud”! Spud was found wandering the streets by some caring people. They put up over 50 flyers in the area, posted him on social media and walked him around the neighborhood to try and find his family. They didn’t have any luck finding his family and were unable to keep him. So, they called Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to pick him up hoping his family might be looking for him. They monitored his status at MCACC and when they found out he was in danger of being euthanized due to the numerous lumps and bumps all over his body. The original finders reached out to find help for Spud. We were contacted by PACC 911 to see if we could assist. We reached out to the finders and advised them if they could foster Spud, we could get him from MCACC and help with his medical needs. They agreed to be his foster home. When we went to MCACC to meet Spud, he was very sweet boy with a great disposition! We got him out of MCACC, reunited him with the people who originally found him so he could settle into his new foster home!
His foster family renamed him Baloo after the lovable bear in The Jungle Book movie! We took Baloo to the vet for an exam and some tests. The vet found at least 10 lesions all over his body and started him on some medicine to see if it would help shrink the lesions. When we went back for a follow-up, the vet said the medicine helped shrink the lesions, but they needed to be surgically removed. Surgery was scheduled and the vet removed 11 lesions on his sides and some others on his belly. The surgery went well and he went back to his foster home to recover. A few weeks later Baloo went back to the vet to have all of the staples removed. Baloo is still recovering and doing well at his foster home. His foster dad says, “He’s still the sweetest snuggliest guy ever!! Doing so well and loving his new name Baloo :)”. His foster family is very happy to have him there and have nothing but pawsome things to say about him!
MAX
IS
ADOPTED!

MAX IS ADOPTED and has relocated to southern Arizona with his new family! His family sent an update along with some cute pictures!
“Max, which now is REX, is really getting settled here. Last week’s Vet checkup showed Rex weighing in at 69.5 pounds which is up from the 62 pounds he weighed when we got him. The Vet is very pleased with his weight gain and the current diet he is enjoying.
When Rex arrived here in February I gave him a squeaky ball. It has become his constant companion and never far from his mouth. First thing in the morning he has it ready to go outdoors and last thing at night we put it up so he does not bring it to bed. When anyone comes to visit Rex grabs the ball and greets them with it. Rex loves to have the ball thrown so he can chase it! So, Dad usually has an afternoon playtime with Rex and big “sister” Reagan.
Talk about energetic and often silly…Rex and Reagan get to enjoy neighborhood walks and when the harness comes out Rex does a little happy dance around in circles. If you get the leash out Rex goes to the front door. When you get the car keys he is ready to go load up for a ride. He is always ready to go. Then there is the silly side that finds him sprawled out on the tile floor, laying with a chew toy or his ball and the constant tongue hanging out when he wants something.
Reagan has shown him a few tricks so Rex now knocks on the patio door to go out or come inside. He also is finding his voice and beginning to “woof” when the doorbell rings or he hears Reagan barking at something in the backyard. In fact, Reagan now gladly lets him take over the “woofing”.
We are so happy that Rex is such a great addition to our family. He is so loved and we cannot thank Luv of Dogz enough for allowing us to adopt this beautiful boy.
Don, Sandra and Reagan”
A big thanks goes out to his foster parents Christian and Chad for opening their home to help Max recover and heal while giving him lots of luv and good ol’ tlc!🐾💕
MAX WAS FOUND WANDERING ON HIS OWN AND NEEDED IMMEDIATE VET CARE!

Meet Max! This sweet boy was found wandering the streets. Max was underweight and had various wounds that needed attention. He went to urgent care for an exam and some tests. He tested positive for tick fever. The vet examined the wound on his toe and was concerned that is might be cancerous. He also noticed that one testicle was larger than the other. It was determined that his toe will need to be amputated and he will require a scrotal ablation procedure for his testicle. After surgery, both were sent to a laboratory for biopsies. The toe came back with no cancer, but the testicle came back positive for cancer. The veterinarian feels the scrotal ablation took care of the cancer. A few weeks after the biopsy results came back, Max went for an ultrasound. The vet did not see any masses or anything of concern at this time. Please consider making a donation to help cover Max’s medical expenses!
Max’s foster family says he is doing great! Thanks to good nutrition, he is actually starting to put some weight on too! His surgery sites are all healed. Max loves napping on the couch, playing ball or enjoying some fun, squeaky toys. His absolute favorite activity is going on walks! Now sweet Max will be waiting patiently for his furever home.
